The American Heart Association has just reported in a study that began back in 1997 that an hour of exercise a day could lower your risk of heart failure by 46%. Males are at greater risk for heart failure, but increased physical activity was equally beneficial for both genders.
You don’t have to run a marathon or become a body builder to prevent heart disease, but moderate to vigorous physical activity, will reduce your chances drastically… even more when combined with a healthy diet. Studies had shown that even low levels of activity were more effective in reducing heart failure then no level of activity. So next time, take the stairs, leave the car at home and go for a stroll, or join your local yoga class… every step you take is a step toward a a healthy heart.
