Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live.   Over 800 million people live in slums and because of the poor living conditions, lack of clean water and sanitation over 1.8 million children die each year.  Minimum wage is not keeping up with the rising cost of living and many workers struggle to afford decent housing for themselves and their families.  The organization builds and repairs houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Their partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods.

Since 1976, Habitat volunteers have built over 90,000 houses for families around the world. The receiving families help build their homes and then buy them with no-interest, affordable financing. Habitat makes no profit from the houses they build.  This wonderful organization provides families in need with the opportunity of affordable, safe housing all around the globe.
